This message is to Allison Morrow on her article about Boomers are to blame for labor shortage. I am a Boomer and I had planned ( and needed to financially) to retire when I was SS eligible at 65. However, the company I worked for was systematically not renewing “older people’s” contracts and forcing them to either retire early or find another job while in their late 50s, early 60s. Since I wasn’t under contract and a full time employee, the company made my life miserable. They humiliated me in meetings, wrote me up for things I had never done and in general just made my life hell. Human Resources was a joke and I finally could not take it anymore and quit. “They” did not accept my resignation and told me to revise my letter to claim I was retiring early. Do you have any idea how many Boomers have been forced out of their jobs with no government or employment service support? And now you are blaming us for labor shortage?! People have been so mistreated by their employers, it’s no wonder senior citizens are not wanting to be back in such an abusive workplace. If you want to put the labor shortage blame somewhere, try putting it on companies and corporations that have no loyalty to the very people who have worked hard for them for years and then kicked them out the door because they are older. Get your story straight.

Terrifically upset over Chris Cuomo’s firing. Chris is to be commended for rushing in to help his brother. He chose family over all else and in my mind, that is a trait that should be admired, especially in these turbulent days. Chris was one anchor I relied on and I regularly watched his show. He was professional and honest and got me the answers to questions I would have asked myself. I think this is an over-correction and I think you have made a big mistake. BIG MISTAKE. If you move Michael Smerconish to that timeslot, you have lost me completely. Unlike Chris, Michael makes everything about himself and stirs the pot. I cannot stand him. I urge you to bring Chris back. His is a voice we need now and his courage and his loyalty as far as his brother is concerned is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing.

Shame on CNN for firing Chris Cuomo! His brother may have done illegal or unethical things, but this is an over-reaction on your part. Just because his brother has a cloud over him, doesn’t mean Chris does. You haven’t even given him the benefit of the doubt or backed him up. Not only my friends and I think this, but we actually heard numerous others in lines at Washington DC suburban stores discussing what a HORRIBLE mistake you’ve made. I’m so disgusted – It’s totally ok for FOX correspondents to lie, spread false info, but YOU have to dismiss an admiral correspondent who asks important and tough questions, and who has served you well for years.

He is one of the best broadcasters you have. I’ll not be watching CNN again, and you’ve been my favorite News Station for years now.

Why would CNN put Kelly Ripa on that show with Anderson Cooper she is one of the most annoying people on TV. You have such a great stable of really likable and watchable other women to choose from. I won’t be watching because of her, Kelly Ripa.
