FORDS ARE GOOD CARS. we have a 2003 ford escape XLT. 3.0. 2-wheel dr. we bought in 2015 with 124.000 miles. just is about to turn 170.000. i was a pro-trucker from 74-2000. retired now, from taxi’s, euclids, dumps, semi’s,ready-mixers, coach-buses, heavy-equipment, every semi-trailor known to man. wouldn’t know a hammer from a saw, electric lol. have had a 1964-station wagon for wife in 75 and me 64-2-door-3 speed on floor, 6-bangers, great cars for $200 and sold for $400. over 429.000 miles. on each. same engines i think? we are on a fixed income and have never had a new-car. NEVER. we pay cash or fa-git-a-bout-it. this has to be our last at 68 an 84 looking for the big 50-anniversary from 73. the only thing more easy to repair is my 82-harley. screw-driver n pull the electrical-plug and thats it. coils only $47 anyware. replace in parts store parking-lot in minutes and onward with no miss. done all 6 so far. parts everyware new or used for these older cars. face it, how many cars new are in salvage-yards?? their traded. lots full of these fords. wrecks get crushed. you can’t find a more reliable car with easy fix’es and parts in stock or the next day delivery anyware. our highest bill so far was about $250. no payments, qwality, have been to charleston S.C..from our holden-beach N.C and north to maryland and west virginia, ran great. smooth ride, plenty of power n more to spare, space, just bought the radio-puller for a whole $10 as shown on computter. came out in minutes, 2-plugs, antenae n wire-harness power, no tools needed, waitting for junk-yard to re-open from the holidays, have seen dozens there. don’t rely on after-market new, want a perfect-fit. and a FORD. radio qwit 5-years ago and the clock 1-year. a long life. very reliable cars.
I am a Ford FLEX owner. It broke my heart when I found out you cancelled that model. I am hoping you will see the error of your ways like you did the Taurus and bting back the flex. Perhaps if you would have spent some money on advertising the car, more people would have bought it. I saw it on a lot , never heard of ot before and I have driven Fords all my life. Car #1 1968 for galaxie 500. best car ever until I drove my Flex. Easiest car to get into and out of. Best riding car for long hauls, 4 hours never had to stop because of cramping. The convenience of a pick up/station wagon but the comfort of a car. seats 7 and makes hauling my new grandchildren around a breeze. It looks like you have taken the flex frame and made the Maverick. However the backseat has little to no leg room. Unlike the flex which had tons of backset leg room! I am on my 2nd Flex and it is a 2016 and I will drive it until it literally falls apart on the road or in my driveway. I know several people who own flexes and wouldn’t drive any thing else until you forced them too. Hoping you will change your mind and bring back the flex doesn’t need to be new and improved just new !!!!!!!!!
This weekend the same error code came up on my vehicle, the same one that my vehicle went to the dealership for a couple of weeks ago. My kids and I sat on the highway in temperatures hovering around 101. I was so upset, my kids and I got sick from the heat, we ended up getting our car off the highway into a parking lot to sit there, while the kids and I waited for a ride to my grandson’s 1st birthday party.
We went back to my car about 4 hours later, when it had cooled down. The car started and I was able to get halfway home before it acted up again. Again, we pulled over on the highway and waited about 10-15 minutes before driving it a little further. After several attempts we finally made it home safely and I waited until Monday morning where I had an appointment with Jeff at 7am. Drove the car in with no problems. Jeff pulled the 4 different codes from my car, 2 of them were from the same reason it was just in. I got a ride to work and continued to keep communication with Jeff letting him know I needed a rental vehicle or loaner to use while my car was being looked at.
Tuesday Afternoon Jeff let me know that after driving the car for 40 miles they could not get the code to come on. I told them I have to get a rental as I have too many doctors’ appointments for my kids to be without a vehicle. He informed me that his director said “no” and just to give my car back to me since they can’t get the code to come on. I felt angry, defeated, and scared to pick up my car, but I did.
At this point I have horrible PTSD from the warning sound in my car, I am always afraid every time I hear a noise that the light has come on. My kids refuse to get in the car anymore after this weekend. Being stuck out on that highway traumatized them and now they are afraid the vehicle is unsafe to ride in.
My daughter has a cist on her brain, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My son is getting his heart looked at for a possible enlarged heart as well as, Autism, ADHD, general anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, trouble with his speech, sensory issues, and OCD. And with these come countless doctor’s appointments that had to be missed.
The problems I have been experiencing with my vehicle have drained not only what little money I have, but my mental and emotional wellbeing. I have been out of a vehicle for countless days, taking expensive Ubers, missing doctor’s appointments.
I feel the dealership has not done right by me and is taking advantage of me as a single mom. Whether it is by negligence or just gross incompetence. I have had countless problems all surrounding my transmission to which it seems to be a different problem every time, and it is still not repaired. And this all started with an oil change. The dealership was the last one to touch my vehicle before all this happened.
I have spoken to other mechanics and very prominent attorney here in Denver. I am fully aware that I may not win a case against Ford itself, but at this time in the economy we are in, making an example of a dealership who is not looking out for the best interest of a single mom with two kids who have disabilities, can’t look good for Ford.
I believe Ford needs to reimburse me all the money I have spent on my vehicle repairs over the last 6 months or switch me into a reliable and safe vehicle.
I also just found out there is a recall on a part that is part of the transmission and when I called the dealership, they said they do not know anything about it except that they hope there is a part coming in around November. Seriously?!
Hopefully all the bad will that Ford has given their customers–never fixing problems with their vehicles and ripping people off comes quickly back to them. I will never shop at Ford ever again. They are liars and thieves. Lesson–never give anyone at Ford a dime for anything. All foreign car makers are better than Ford.
pads needs to be replaced already making a noise. My husband spent hour or so on hold trying to contact friendly and made us very upsetThe Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, near New York City, the novel depicts first-person narrator Nick Carraway’s interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby’s obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan.
The novel was inspired by a youthful romance Fitzgerald had with socialite Ginevra King, and the riotous parties he attended on Long Island’s North Shore in 1922. Following a move to the French Riviera, Fitzgerald completed a rough draft of the novel in 1924. He submitted it to editor Maxwell Perkins, who persuaded Fitzgerald to revise the work over the following winter. After making revisions, Fitzgerald was satisfied with the text, but remained ambivalent about the book’s title and considered several alternatives. Painter Francis Cugat’s cover art greatly impressed Fitzgerald, and he incorporated aspects of it into the novel.
After its publication by Scribner’s in April 1925, The Great Gatsby received generally favorable reviews, though some literary critics believed it did not equal Fitzgerald’s previous efforts. Compared to his earlier novels, Gatsby was a commercial disappointment, selling fewer than 20,000 copies by October, and Fitzgerald’s hopes of a monetary windfall from the novel were unrealized. When the author died in 1940, he believed himself to be a failure and his work forgotten.
