I can not get into my ancestry account. I was given a new password a couple of days ago, but when I went to sign on tonight, it didn’t work. Can you help me?

I just joined and ordered a DNA kit.. I was asked for my name and I am so used to saying Janet Rees Erskine that that’s what I entered. When I went to fill out the info requested for my father his last name is listed as Rees Erskine. His name is Robert Petitt Rees. NOT Rees Erskine. The maiden name for my mother IS correct. She was a Reese and married a Rees. How do I get this corrected?

I have a serious complaint about Ancestry.com service that has been ignored by Travis at Customer Support and MUST be addressed at the Corporate level. I have a lengthy and detailed file of complaints about abuse and am willing to send my entire file to corporate. The gist of my complaint is that there is a woman on the message boards who, for 16 years has harassed and abused and used foul language to other users, including me. She has been reported by numerous other users, who mostly have just stopped using the message boards in question, rather than be further abused by her. I am one of those she has abused. I posted a message on the O’Shields board and she immediately asked me a lot of personal information: My address, my phone number, my husbands name, etc. She must have googled me because she knew I was the author of several genealogy books and poetry books and fiction books.

When I refused to have any more contact with her, her abuse began by her messaging me using the name “Bunton” and using abusive language. I did not know what she was talking about. I told her not to contact me anyone. She replied with another post calling me “Bunton” and using abusive language. I again asked her not to contact me again and I got a third message board post similar to the first two. I had my attorney write a letter for me to send to her (via email) asking her NOT to contact me anymore and she ignored it She even posted that it was a “load of BS.” Next, I wrote a letter estblishing my identity and having it notarized. I posted this letter on the Hewatt message board because she had begin to harass me on that board as well. She wrote a post that said basically that I had FAKED the letter and warning me that faking a legal document was a crime.

It was then that “Bunton” contacted me and apologized that I had been abused by her in his name. He is David Bunton and he is a recognized expert on both the Hewitt and O’Shields families. He is a requested speaker at genealogical conferences and seminars. He outlines WHY she was attacking me. She had, for fifteen years, been attacking anyone who posted on these boards who contradicted her sloppy and unproven research by calling them Bunton. She basically believed that ANYONE who disagreed with her was David Bunton pretending to be someone else.
It all started when she wanted to write a book about the O’Shields family and asked David Bunton to write something for her book. He did but when he tried to use his own work in other places, she went crazy and told him that she had the copyright to the book and he could not use his own work anywhere else. He, naturally, contracited her. She obviously does not understand copyright laws like David and I, both authors, understand it. Then she began telling anyone who used a pedigree from either family or even a name from her book that they could not use it because she had those pedigrees and names copyrighted. You can not do that, but she thought she could and made a lot of people angry.
Consequently, ANYONE who contradicted her on either board was adressed as “Bunton” and abused in very colorful and sometimes bordering lewd language. She even e-mailed me an abusive letter adressed to “Bunton” which was extremely libelous.
To get to my current problem, she has had all of my posts defending myself against her and even my family history research deleted from the Hewitt and O’Shields message boards. She made friends with the board administrator who does this for her. However, all of her posts attacking me and accusing me of a crime have been left on the boards.
This is a very prejudicial treatment of the situation. I complained and all Travis at Customer Service could say was for me to NOT contact her. I posted my family history on a new thread and that was even deleted. Since my son is an attorney in Tampa, Florida and I get all the legal ADVICE I need, I have even thought about suing Ancestry.com as well as suing her for libel. But, I respect Ancestry.com and am sure that you will remedy the situation.
I have heard from MANY people about her abuse of them in the same way she has abused me.
