      Mr. Harris,

      I also have received many of these messages. In trying to solve this problem, this is what I came up against, as well and found out:
      LETTER STATING DE-ACTIVIATION: CANNOT REPLY – MAIL DEMON
      CUSTOMER SERVICE TELEPHONE NUMBERS: FRADULANT – GROUP SAYING THEY ARE AOL, BUT NOT – THEY ARE A HACK OUT INDIA AND WANT MONEY FOR A “CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION”. THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A “HOLE” IN MY IP ADDRESS AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO ENTER INTO MY AOL ACCOUNT TO FIX THIS. SO-BELIEVING THAT THEY WERE THE REGULAR AOL TECHNICIANS, I ALLOWED THEM INTO MY COMPUTER AND IMMEIATELY THINGS WENT BAD. THEY WANTED ALL MY PERSONAL INFO AND CREDIT CARD INFO. I TOLD THEM THAT I WOULD HAVE MY PERSONAL COMPUTER TECH FIX MY “HOLE” IN THE IP ADDRESS AND EXITED OUT OF SESSION, TURNED OFF MY COMPUTER AND TRIED TO CALL AOL. BUT TO NO AVAIL, THE TELEPHONE NUMBER FOR CORPORATE AOL IN NEW YORK JUST RANG. WHEN I CALL THE CURRENT “AOL” CUSTOMER SERVICE TELEPHONE #, THEY LISTENED TO MY STORY AND THEN THEY HUNG UP ON ME- PROBABLY THE SAME FOLKS IN INDIA/HOUSTON, TEXAS.
      I AM GOING TO E-MAIL CORPORATE AND SEE IF i CAN GET ANY RESULT AS WELL AS TELL THEM WHAT IS GOING ON.
      IF YOU HAVE ANY NEW INFO, PLEASE RESPOND.

    A sad company In signed up for AOL GOLD free 30 day trial. After one week I decided that it was not what I wanted. I tried to cancel via on line account (My AOL) to no avail. I am in Thailand so unable to call aol to cancel. Had my daughter who has my power of attorney, try to cancel. Was told it must be done by me in person. Have tried by every means to cancel for 2 plus weeks and was unable to do so. Now I and being charged twice $4.99 or $9.98 when the trial period was for $4.99. Is this fair? I have 2 email addresses and when trying to cancel on line, they ask for a code for verification. every time a email I was longed on to the data was sent to the opposite one causing me to relog into that account, when returning to provide code I revived a time out try again. I spent hours trying to cancel. I am in Thailand so unable to use my US phone. Terrible service.

    Sir/madam;

    Some time ago (about the time AOL Gold came about) I accepted a 30-day free offer for AOL recovery of erroneously deleted documents. LONG before the free trial up up I cancelled by $3,99 monthly fee. However still I am charged $3.99 a month each and every month. I find this sort of like stealing. What do I need to do to get this charged deleted for me. I DO NOT have AOL Gold or this program. Please help me resolve this as quickly as possible to avoid even more fun fair monthly charges. If for some reason my earlier cancellation was not done I request you cancel it NOW. Thanks.
