I recently visited your store at 13460 s Illinois rte 59 Plainfield Illinois located in Berkshire Place to purchase some fried and grill chicken at your deli and I ask the deli clerk how long has the chicken been out and she replied one and half hour I also ask if they we’re going to cook some more chicken and she replied No ‼️ So to avoid a problem I left
I just want you and other customer to be aware that some people can get sick it also would be a good idea if the chicken was time stamp like Costco

I am following up on an experience I had at the Glen Ellyn il store on Roosevelt rd. I reported the experience to a manager who said he would look into it. I know that Jewel has been very careful to protect shoppers. Unfortunately, people are getting complacent. I was in the store at the vergitable dept. In saw at the deli bar a man with his mask below his mouth and nose getting chicken wings. His nose was dripping. I told a near my employee who talked to the man. I later saw the man with again mouth and nose exposed. Also, at checkout I saw a women with hand over mouth no mask. I just lOST a good friend to COVID. Not a good end. I think that Jewel needs to be harder on people for their own good.

Hi, I had a terrible experience at the Jewel in New Lenox Illinois off Laraway Rd. I went to Jewel to get my items for Wic . I am 9 months pregnant and had a swolloen foot…It is scary to shop with covid going on I have no one else to get it for me and I can’t use wic online. I put it off to the point were I had no food in the house and I let my other certificates feom the month before expire because I have been scared of going to the store. It is May 2020 and My foot is very swollen I had to use the special motor cart to get around ( My first time ever using a cart) Manager Matt went to go get me the cart because the one I went to use was not charged, he was not happy about having to get the cart from the other end of the store. When I went to check out I had my teenage son helping me separate the wic items to put them on the belt to check out , Cashier named Tammy started yelling at me that my son is not sepperating the wic items by ticket. I said everything on the belt to check out is wic items, it was not mixed with other items i was purchasing. I told her I wanted to see a manager because it was uncalled for the way she was yelling and it was embarrassing givin my condition. She never called the manager even though I asked 3 times, so I called the store when I got to my car and it happened to be the same manager who got me the other cart his name is Matt. He said he would take notes on Tammy and told me to get a set of cruches next time.. I was LIVID by the time I got off the phone. Who is he to say I should limp around the store with crutches. I am 9 months pregnant and have a swollen sprained left foot that he can clearly see is larger then the other foot and it is wraped. It is a shame that these are the uncaring people who work for Jewel. I used to shop Jewel all the time and this time I spent over $200 on other groceries besides wic, I spent way more in the past . It is Sad to say I will not be going to Jewel anymore after this for anything, and other people will be hearing of this experience.

This past Friday I got monetarily “raped” at my neighborhood Osco in Naperville for two prescription drugs, and I’m asking you to do something about it. Details:
    1) On February 13th, 2020, I picked up my 90-day supply of Lisinopril. Cost $11.32.
Three months later, May 15th, I picked up my 90-day supply of Lisinopril. Cost: $19.35.
Price increase $8.03, which is a percentage increase of 71%.
    2) On February 11th, 2020, I picked up my 90-day supply of Finasteride. Cost $16.52.
Three months later, May 15th, I picked up my 90-day supply of Finasteride. Cost: $37.03.
Price increase $20.51, which is a percentage increase of 124%.
I’ve sent emails of this to State Senator Laura Ellman, U.S. Representative Sean Casten, and U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth. Maybe there’s a simple error in pricing, or maybe it’s just a case of pharmaceutical corporate greed. Of all times when this happens too — a global pandemic — when “we’re all in this together”. Together my ass!
I’d appreciate anything you can do. You can start by doing this: When Osco texts its customers that their prescriptions are ready, let them know what the price is. Don’t just invite us in like unsuspecting sheep, and charge us more than double what the last prescription price was. You can reach me anytime at 630-408-3712 or sezwhorich@gmail.com.

My wife & I have been Jewel/Osco customers for about 5 decades. We have been customers of Jewel in Crystal Lake, Illinois for 40 years, and 4 different building locations. I am over 70 years old and have conditions that make me a high risk for the effects of the Covid-19 disease.

We have been carefully staying at home now for several weeks. We did test the Jewel home delivery and the Jewel Pick-Up services each once, on small orders. Although there were some issues with safety on each one, it seemed like Jewel was out in front trying to provide the essential services in increasingly safe ways. A few of our friends were using the in store shopping service with early hours for senior citizens, like us. As we had run down our in house supplies and the media was increasingly reporting new interruptions in food supply chains we knew we needed to replenish our supplies for another month.

After weighing the options we chose to go to the early morning in store shopping at the Crystal Lake Jewel Osco. Our experience was terrible in many regards – all relating to our safety.
    1. There were no entry checks and it seemed like people of all ages entered freely.
    2. There was no instruction or enforcement of the traffic arrows in the food aisles. Twice I reprimanded Jewel staff for pushing carts up the aisles in the wrong directions. All were young people without any masks or other PPE. This resulted in no chance of maintaining the 6 foot separation as is the law in this state.
    3. The worst experience was the checkout. We chose the self checkout to eliminate additional hands and to avoid unnecessary contact with the checkout clerks and baggers. Also the lines in the normal checkout lanes were blocking the traffic in the aisles and prohibiting the 6 foot separation rules. However the self checkout turned out to be the bigger problem. Our checkout machine repeatedly hung up for various errors like insisting we had not placed items scanned in the bagging area – which was not the case. The attendant in this area had to repeatedly interrupt and reset the equipment. Now each time she squeezed in between my wife and I and did the required resets. She had no face mask or any PPE. She also had clear redness around her mouth and nose indicating some symptoms she insisted was a “cold”. I advised her to get a mask on and to keep her distance please. She corrected me that it was not necessary for staff that was not sick to wear masks. And clearly the vast majority of staff had chosen to not wear face masks (which are now clearly recommended by the CDC).
    4. We had a couple of instances of sale prices not registering, that the attendant helped with, but to avoid contact with her we just ignored any others that also come up in completing our large order.

We got out the store as quickly as we could. We were glad that we had our face masks and gloves on. We went home, wiped down our purchases, and cleaned ourselves up. We hope that we took sufficient precautions because your staff did not. We will stay at home alone for the next month at least. If we become sick during this time you will here from my attorney.

We will not be visiting Jewel for a long time. We also noticed a number of similar experiences with Jewel Osco reported by others on social media. There are things that need to be fixed here. They are not difficult things. I hope that you can get you staff and local management to straighten up their act.

    Whoa !
    Shopping at Jewel today.
None of the employees where wearing PPE, (MASK).
    Whats wrong with you.
All the other grocery retailers have PPE.
The Governor and the US Government recommend wearing masks.
We are all talking about YOU.

About two hours ago I was trying to buy a bottle of vodka and was told I had to wait until 9 am before he could sell it to me. The store was in Lemont number 3182. My first thought was how far are we going to go with this total nonsense but you probably have at least a Master’s Degree in your profession and you can explain it to this 83 year old man the reasoning behind this policy. This probably would not make any difference to you but I worked as a stock boy an adult and by family shopped in the Jewel stores since 1954. When the jewel did had common sense managers. I do not expect an answer soon.
    Very Sincerely.

I have been shopping at Jewel in Hickory Hills a long time. I have never been so disrespected by a cashier at any of your establishments… I had to go to a manager any duty tonight (3/22/20) whose name is Kathy and I had to tell her how my cashier decided to chat with other employees for at least five to eight minutes, when I asked him if we could please hurry this up, I have kids at home. He said I could take my stuff and go to self check out. He proceeded after another minute or so of trying to get his glove on to throw my mother’s food on the belt and I mean literally mean throw and slam the food we were trying to buy…… My mom said you don’t have to be so mad and he replied well you guys seem mad at me. Donald the cashier proceeded to talk badly about me to the next customer…. Kathy the manager was polite and said she understood and did as she was trained to do. However instead of turning to social media at this point I figured I would try and talk with you (meaning corporate) first. I have never been so disrespected and I am fuming. These are trying times and I know no one wanted to be in the store obviously but if it was me who was working the register I would be more interested in getting people checked out as quickly as possible while maintaining a professional demeanor. I truly hope to hear from you so I do not have to turn to social media.

    Thank you

    Hello!
My name is Steve Horvath, a regular customer of the Jewel-Osco located at 1220 South Ashland Ave. in Chicago.
I would like to offer my suggestions to help streamline the Self-Checkout lane at the store.
#1 The customers are hindered by the plastic bag versus the customers own bag issue that requires the assistance of the store clerks before check-out. This holds back the customers and unnecessarily requires the assistance of a store clerk; I believe this issue could easily be solved with the use of the Jewel-Osco Rewards card that could simply be scanned to verify the customer is using his or her own bag.
#2 I am 60 years of age. Yet, I need to wait for the approval of a clerk before I can check out my Beer or Liquor purchases. I wonder whether scanning a Drivers License or a State ID would eliminate the need for a clerk’s approval, which would also speed up the check-out process? I believe this was the idea behind opening up a self-check out lane, wasn’t it?
#3 It is also very annoying when I am asked for my phone number; I don’t know why could I give my telephone number to a computer system without knowing what is it going to be used for and my who?
I hope that you’d take my suggestions into consideration in order to help streamline the check-out process at the self-check out lanes that is now and often agonizingly slow! Best Regards, Steve Horvath

I am not understanding and extremely concerned. We are still in the mist of this covid situation and most of your stores are WITHOUT wipes for the carts, and if there are wipes in the dispenser, they are DRY, ESPECIALLY THE MELROSE PARK IL STORE.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UTTERLY OUTRAGEOUS……
THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY.
ARE YOU ATTEMPTING TO INITIATE AN OUTBREAK STEMMING FROM YOUR STORES……..YOU NEED TO GET ON TOP OF THIS….THEY SHOULDVE KEPT MIERS GROCER IN THE AREA…I WOULD HAVE TAKEN MY BUSINESS TO THEM.
I WILL FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO SHOP DUE TO MY HEALTH BEING COMPROMISED BY YOUR IRRESPONSIBLITY AND IF CONTINUED WILL BE REPORTED TO THE CDC
